Judge 1:
Proposing ways in which communicate the very best information and examples of climate change around the world is extremely important. Enlisting and engaging the geographically dispersed alumni in this effort is excellent. There are a couple of like projects being contemplated at MIT now. The Environmental Solutions Initiative (ESI) is starting a production project of very short videos from experts in climate and the environment. These videos will be produced by MIT students and include faculty, students, and should include alumni as well.
Judge 2:
My first question is whether the public actively watches MIT videos. A library of MIT videos is available online. What level of activity does that library see?
My second question is with respect to content and format. How do you design videos to maximize their appeal and viewership? This is not included in the program of action. The evolution of online education and outlets like YouTube have provided significant insights into the attributes that make online videos appealing.
The third question is how you promote the video database. This is easily said but much harder to do given that we live in an era where video contact is greatly oversupplied.
