I would propose to install small wind turbine generators by modifying existing e-cars. Instead of pushing the atmosphere away, harness it.
I would like for a serious reason why this way of collecting energy is not plausible. I ran this hypothesis by my physics professor and he couldn't see why there would not be a steady, positive feedback of energy to my battery. We harness the wind from stationary wind turbines, sometimes on a huge scale. Why can't our electric cars be like bees and go for a long drive and collect some energy? Even on a calm day, when the giant turbines are idle, our cars create their own wind, just by going for a drive. With existing technology of turbine generators and the evolution of battery storage capabilities, it should not be very hard to develop a prototype. If it works for cars, then it works for every form of transportation, trains, planes, automobiles and ships at sea.
Category of the action
Building efficiency: Physical Action
What actions do you propose?
There should be a collaboration of any people interested in a proposal with communication involving the OP.
Who will take these actions?
Where will these actions be taken?
How much will emissions be reduced or sequestered vs. business as usual levels?
One tonne of carbon for every car on the world's highways would be eliminated from the atmosphere.
What are other key benefits?
We could drive to our hearts content and live in a pristine world.
What are the proposal’s costs?
The only negative side effect is that the rich oil people would have to live off their dwindling cash reserves and many jobs in oil production would be lost.
After refinement of a working model and cooperation with manufacturers of electric cars there could be a complete phasing out of existing combustion driven automobiles. I don't see why this implementation could not be achieved within a five year period. I apologize in advance to all the rich people who could be rendered obsolete by this alternative to raping and pillaging the environment of spaceship earth.
I need people to provide support. I am an environmental technician who has recently been disabled by a cancer attack. I live in Canada.
