The idea is really good, but it needs further work and some concrete examples and plans.

I agree with Anna, and would like to add a few thoughts. A positive approach may indeed be refreshing and encouraging, but I think it's already being done. People do get recognized and awarded for doing good, and we should support and continue that. But the fact is, humans damage the environment (sometimes irreversibly), deplete resources, pollute the air and water, fill the atmosphere with radiation, destroy natural habitats etc... There's a real sense of urgency, based on scientific studies and observations. Our children and grandchildren will live in a pretty different world, not necessarily a better one. Our current conduct is not sustainable, a cultural change is needed, the sooner the better. Governments and companies around the world must take action and make changes, that sometimes come with a high cost. Rewarding good actions is great but not enough, as it doesn't slow down or minimize the damage. Please do elaborate and give some examples of how your proposal would work. Cheers !..

The idea needs further details for assessment. There has been global mechanism which promotes reducing in CO2 by providing incentives for achieving the same. Global mechanism like carbon credits, voluntary emission reductions have been launched to promote adoption of better technologies that leads to reduction as compared to business as usual. You could think of proposing local level incentive schemes that promotes local innovation to drive emission reductions. Look forward to review more detailed proposal. All the best!
