STRAUT Aero: Solar Hot Air Generator by STRAUT
Aug 6, 2014
Judges' Comments: We found this proposal to be very interesting. We appreciate that this is an already prototyped technology, with potential niche applications for hot air in the industrial sector. In your proposal, it came across as though this was a technology in search of a market. For your revisions, can you please expand upon the potential market applications? This requires significant elaboration. (Example: most industry needs a reliable heat supply while this system is intermittent.) Good luck!

Nicely done. Did you buy the parabolic trough reflectors or make them in-house? I was considering knocking together a sun-tracking system for heating water and thinking about trough design. BTW, did you consider that hot air can power refrigeration?
