Cyclone buster, this is truly an amazing idea. However, I believe society is so dumbed down that they will not be able to grasp it.

Advocates adoption of an ocean based energy system but does not cite any research or results from pilot tests that show the technology works. More appropriate for the electric power contest. Also, does not link to other proposals, as the contest prompt asks, but to other contests.

jasminehyman, I keep getting comments as such.. This is a contest for submitting proposals...In my video that is in the proposal I show how water is moved uphill by kinetic Energy without the use of a pump which is a huge savings:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fh_RXiEinU . The Kinetic Energy in the flowing water and the heat differential between surface and subsurface waters are the driving forces for the power generation part of my proposal. I am not a mechanical or electrical engineer nor am I a draftsman or architect... I submitted my proposal as a contestant for the contest.I did link such work for the OTEC portion of the concept in the proposal... Here is a article where Lockheed Martin is building one: http://www.gizmag.com/otec-plant-lockheed-martin-reignwood-china/27164/ FAU is working on the Kinetic part here so if you combine both concepts we can change our climate back to what it was prior to the industrial revolution : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sBs3QUErWM The tunnel idea is also part of Sam Carana's Global action plan here in this proposal link https://www.climatecolab.org/web/guest/plans/-/plans/contestId/1300701/planId/1308405 : Note where Gulfstream Tunnels lie in diagram below and they are part of Sam Caran's Global climate protection plan: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UoDHy5_9khk/UeOoX63vDVI/AAAAAAAAKc0/85WfPwMX9Og/s1600/Climate-Action-Plan-July-11-2013.png . BTW the Gulfstream has enough heat energy to power the industrialized world over 100 times. My tunnels only need 1% of that heat energy to do the trick. Scroll to 2 min 25 secs here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hD52H7rQak

. For the ocean, the July global sea surface temperature was 0.59°C (1.06°F) above the 20th century average of 16.4°C (61.5°F), tying with 2009 as the warmest July on record. http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/global/2014/7 Underwater Suspension Tunnels anyone???????
