Hi Blake, I am Climate CoLab catalyst. You have a very interesting proposal. I would advise you to kindly fill in the details about other questions to really make an impact. That would not only increase your chances but would help you discover minute aspects of your proposal. Waiting to check out fully completed proposal. Regards Abhik Tayal

This may be "out there" but i wonder if a road surface that contained magnetic particles combined with an unerlying coil would generate power as vehicles carrying magnets passed over it. Would there be drag created by the magnetic field and would that cause the vehicles to use more powers than would be created? Just throwing ideas at the wall.

Argh! I keep forgetting to fix spelling and I type too fast, sorry for errors.

@frozenfirst: Thanks for the proposal. It is an interesting idea and I believe that it warrants some fleshing-out. Perhaps you could also submit a proposal to the Transportation Contest (https://www.climatecolab.org/web/guest/plans/-/plans/contestId/1300202)? Look forward to seeing more.

I was just checking this site to see the quality of the ideas and the comments. From an engineering perspective the comment of Tominga is exactly on the money here; therefore I'm quite surprised by the feedback from the people running this site. Might I suggest to pick people with some (rudimentary) engineering skills to moderate and support? From a managing creativity point of view, this idea might spark other ideas which are worthwhile pursuing; so definitely worth sharing. But to encourage the proponent to fill in more details is clearly a waste of everybody's time.

Hello - Looking forward to read the details of that idea. Best, Mohazzam

There would be drag with + - polarity, but harnessing "Flux" leads to energy multiplication.

I haven't explored every idea on the site, but this might be the worst. It would take one of the most carbon-intensive and least-efficient power sources, the car engine, and reduce it's efficiency by creating drag (via the magnetic fields).
