There have been successful examples of online and hard copy 'green pages' in many places and this proposal puts forward a solid plan for creating a similar one for Detroit. The challenge not addressed in the proposal is how it reaches people who are not already the kind of people looking for green services - how does it get beyond its niche and make a mainstream change? Great project idea for a city that could really benefit from such a system. With other examples of this kind of system in place in other cities, regions and countries, it would be great to include some analysis of how they have succeeded, key learnings and how these can be applied to this project for a best in sector approach. While volunteers would be great to use and make this project very low cost, a coordinator that can oversee and drive the project might be a more effective (both in time and cost) way to deliver the greatest possible benefits for Detroit and those participating in the project. Very good initiative that could provide some significant benefits for Detroit for participating venues and projects across water, energy and reducing emissions.

Hello and greetings from the contest fellows! Thank you for submitting a proposal to our contest, and congratulations on making it into the top 8! We are very excited to have your proposal, and hope to see it do well. We would love for you to keep improving your proposal prior to the next round of judging. Don't forget, both Judges Choice and Popular Choice winners will be connected with people who can support the implementation of their proposal, which may include policy makers, business executives, NGO and foundation officials, scientists, and others. They will be recognized and publicized by the MIT Climate CoLab and invited to showcase their proposals at a conference held at MIT November 2014, where a $10,000 Grand Prize will be awarded. I would like to encourage you to take a moment and consider how you can improve your proposal, before the next round of judging. The judges comments from the 1st round have been shared with you as a comment (above), feel free to consider these as you make edits. In addition, you may want to consider adding additional information on: - what actions need to be performed to extend this idea in it's current city, and in other cities - The amount of volunteers and volunteer man-hours that are currently required - whether the volunteers would eventually need to be replaced by salaried employees, or how continual recruitment of volunteers would work - A more detailed timeline for implementation and improvement
