Art and public art have an important role. However, this proposal in not specific enough. It is not clear what the funding would be for or how it would achieve carbon reductions. An example that could serve as a replicable model would be helpful in illustrating the proposal. Linking art and environment together for creatively communicating challenging issues such as climate change, the need to improve the environment generally and the benefits of taking environmental action is known to work well and have positive impacts. This is a good idea that could use some more development to clearly outline how it would work, how to encourage participation and how to reward action. With more infomation, this project could be a great example that could be taken up in urban areas on a broad scale but more detail about how it could work, funding and a clear range of ideas and options for those interested would be necessary.
