Thanks Naolo! We know that radio is the most effective form of media communication. :)

This proposal presents a great overall vision for a program in Tanzania. However, because the vision is so large, the initial implementation seems like it would be challenging. What are the relationships that you have in place, and how will you move them forward? What is the overall scale of this project (ie. will you start with a pilot community and scale up)? How do you plan to form new relationships and engage listeners and broadcasters? The proposal attempts to address these implementation questions, but it would be good to have clear steps - for example, specifics for a survey to go out to a community on the information they desire to gather, and how you plan to get radio air time. Additionally, budgeted costs seem low for the proposed scale of the effort, but, otherwise, this proposal seems interesting and well thought through. It is also not dependent on technically challenging data collection and modeling of climate change impacts, although some of that might be helpful. It would be interesting to see how you might be able to integrate some digital technologies to support the educational process, however. More broadly, we would also like to know how this project will lead to people taking action. What background research can you share that shows that radio is an effective way to reach the communities you are targeting in particular, and that this interactive radio program can function in the way you describe?

I wish you the best! Please, check my proposal in Waste Management Contest, named "REACC: Recycled Debris for Adaptation to Climate Change"; and I would apreciate your support as I supported your proposal.

This is an excellent proposal. It is clear that this group has done the groundwork and knows their audience, and they have made a compelling case for the use of radio as the communication tool of choice in Tanzania. And while radio as a communication technology is not itself novel, it does seem new to use it for communicating climate change information. The proposal is very place-based though. It is not clear that this project would be globally transferable, although it may be that a similar radio-based communication technique could work as a model for communicating climate risk and resilience for other less-developed regions around the world.

I have personally seen this group at work on the ground in Tanzania, the efforts they expel to get this project off the ground is phenomenal. In terms of the global applicability of the project, it is a plug and play model, where in most regions of the world where this would be rolled out the simplest form of technology works. Great effort from the team.

A model for the rest of the world. Radio reaches millions and provides a platform for thoughtful and in-depth analysis and discussion. I recommend highly this project. David J. Zaber, M.S., Ph.D. Madison, WI USA.

Thanks to everyone that has supported and voted for us. Thanks also to the Climate Colab Team for running the contest. We hope that if we are successful and our project reaches our targets that we can scale up and replicate the project in other suitable countries and regions to make this a truly global solution. Asanteni wote!
