Clearly presented proposal and while not wholly original ((see David Fisk and energy as a fur coat)), contains some original thinking. However, the proposal is not well thought through, in terms of the numerous practical problems of implementation. A key issue is that 80% of oil and gas comes from national oil companies, most of them low ethical integrity regimes. A best bet on this might be ‘fair trade coal’, but this idea has already been floated by others
